Can the cable be run in a house that is already finished?
Yes, almost always. We agree the routes before the install, use concealed trunking or go along the outside where there is no other way, and show you exactly where the cable will run before we drill anything.
How many days of footage are kept?
It depends on the number of cameras, the resolution and the hard disk in the recorder. Tell us how many days you want available and we size the disk for that, so the recording you needed has not already been overwritten.
Can I view the cameras from my phone?
Yes. We set up phone and desktop access at installation and test it with you before leaving. If you later change your router or internet provider and the app stops connecting, we reconfigure the access.
I have an old system. Is it worth repairing or replacing?
We tell you honestly once we have looked at it. On systems seven or eight years old the cameras are usually not worth repairing, but the cabling is — so only the cameras and the recorder get changed, on the existing runs, which costs far less than a system from scratch. We work whatever the make and whoever installed it originally.
